Our Initiatives

In addition to its support to students through scholarships, the FirstRock Foundation also partners with several charitable organizations in order to fulfil its mandate of helping persons in need, particularly Jamaica’s youth. The FirstRock Foundation recognizes that giving back to our community can take many forms and therefore partners with a range of organizations on various initiatives which tackle social issues from a variety of angles. Past partnerships have included collaborations with Food for the Poor, Clarendon Crime Prevention, Hands of Grace Foundation, the Kiwanis Club and House of SDM.

The FirstRock Foundation takes pride in playing its part to create a better Jamaica one youth, household and community at a time. The Foundation’s past initiatives include support of beach clean ups, distribution of gift packages to the less fortunate as well as donation of useful learning tools such as tablets which will benefit students in need. The FirstRock Foundation welcomes future partnerships with philanthropic organizations and encourages them to reach out using the contact information provided about possible collaborations geared towards encouraging education and entrepreneurship.

Norman Reid

Chairman,
FirstRock Real Estate Investments Limited

Mr. Norman Reid is the Chairman of First Rock Real Estate Investments. He is a career Banker and has served the Financial Services Sector for over 40 years with his most recent post being Senior Assistant General Manager for Retail Banking at NCB. His expertise includes Risk Management, Leadership, Sales Management and Governance. He serves as a Director at the EXIM Bank, Access Financial Services and Growth Tech Limited. He also chairs the Sub-Committees of these Boards.

Norman holds a BA in Banking and Finance, a Diploma in Banking (ACIB) and a Diploma in Retail Banking from the BAI (BANK Administration Institute) USA. He is also a Fellow at the Institute of Banking and Financial services in the UK. Mr. Reid was also appointed as a mentor to the Emerging Leader Initiative administered by the Bank Administration Institute.
