Founded in 2017 by Mr. Ryan Reid and Dr. Michael Banbury, the FirstRock Group comprises a private equity company, real estate investment companies and its subsidiaries as well as a foundation. The Group’s private equity company, FirstRock Private Equity, is incorporated in Barbados and focuses on providing smart capital to SME’s. It has portfolio companies inclusive of Dolla Financial Services Limited and My Ocean Limited.

The Group’s real estate investment company, FirstRock Real Estate Investments Limited, is an IBC incorporated in and under the laws of St. Lucia. It operates as an investment holding company with focus on real estate investments and was listed on the Jamaica Stock Exchange in February 2020. The company has assets across the Caribbean.

The FirstRock Foundation was formed in 2019 and is the charitable arm of the FirstRock Group. With a focus on entrepreneurship and education, the Foundation has disbursed millions of dollars to Jamaican students through scholarships and grants. The FirstRock Foundation also partners with other charitable organizations on various initiatives to support persons in need.

Edwin Wint

Director,
FirstRock Capital Resource Limited

Mr. Edwin Wint is the Chairman & CEO of Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Jamaica. His background as a real estate executive has equipped him with broad experience in all aspects of valuation, facilities/property management and estate management. He also possesses experience in real estate investment consulting and real estate sales. Mr. Wint held the title, Director of Real Estate Board and Commission for Strata Corporations up until May 2018. He has also served as the President of the Realtors Association of Jamaica. 

Mr. Wint obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and a Post Graduate Diploma in Construction Project Management, Construction & Real Estate from the University of Reading in the UK. He is a certified International Property Specialist, Real Estate and has a Diploma in Land Economy & Valuation Surveying from the University of Technology as well as a Bachelor of Arts from the University of the West Indies.

Marjorie Seeberan

Director,
FirstRock Capital Resource Limited

Mrs. Marjorie Seeberan is a retired career banker with many years of experience in the banking and finance sector. Her most recent post was General Manager for Corporate Banking at the National Commercial Bank (Jamaica) Limited. Mrs. Seeberan served as the Senior Vice President of JP Morgan Chase up to November 1995 as well as the Executive Director for The University of the West Indies between May 1997 and November 2002. She studied at New York University where she pursued her Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.), Finance.

Dr Michael Banbury

Director & Co-founder ,
FirstRock Group

Dr. Michael Banbury is the Director and Co-founder of FirstRock Group. He is a Medical Doctor with a specialty in Primary Care and Diabetology. Dr. Banbury is a graduate of the University of the West Indies School of Medicine where he earned his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (M.B.B.S) and the Wharton Business School where his focus was in Distressed Asset Investing. He is also a Fellow of the Royal Society for Public Health (F.R.S.P.H).

Dr. Banbury serves at the Board level of various Private and Public sector entities and brings a wealth of management and business development experience. He is also a Director of Dolla Financial Services Limited and the Chairman of FirstRock Private Equity. 

Ryan Reid

Executive Chairman & Co-Founder,
FirstRock Group

Ryan Reid is the Executive Chairman and Co-Founder of the FirstRock Group. Mr. Reid has over fourteen years of experience in the real estate and financial sectors. He is also the director and principal of Growth Tech Limited (a local technology company), Innovative systems, Bumble Bee Digital Agency Limited, Dream Entertainment Limited, Xodus Carnival Company, Century 21 Properties, Yes Iyah Limited, Dolla Financial Services, Ultra Financier and Medical Associates Hospital Limited and Optimum Distributors.

He has also held directorships on various Government of Jamaica Boards. He is currently the Chairman of the National Education Trust and Director of the Water Resources Authority appointed by the Government of Jamaica. Ryan is also a Justice of the Peace for the parish of St Andrew.

Christina J. Garel Robinson

Group Assistant Vice President – Operations
FirstRock Capital Resource Limited

Christina J. Garel Robinson is the Group Assistant Vice President – Operations for the FirstRock Group. She has over 12 years experience in Financial Operations and brings a wealth of knowledge in Business Process Streamlining. Prior to this, she held the position of Business Credit Analyst for 5 years at American Express, a Fortune 500 Company in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Mrs. Garel Robinson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the accredited University of Charleston in Charleston, West Virginia. She also studied at Florida International University where she completed the Executive Management Leadership Program and has been trained in Corporate Governance, Anti-Money Laundering, Counter Financing of Terrorism & Proliferation. Mrs. Garel Robinson was commissioned to be a Notary Public for the State of Florida in 2021 and is also slated to be commissioned as a Justice of the Peace for St. Andrew, Jamaica.

Christopher Yeung

Managing Director,
FirstRock Private Equity (FRPE)

Christopher P. Yeung is the Co-Founder and Managing Director of FirstRock Private Equity Limited (FRPE). In this role, he provides executive leadership over the portfolio companies’ holdings and is responsible for the achievement of the organization’s strategic goals and objectives, as identified by the Board of Directors. 

Mr. Yeung has over 12 years of experience in finance and banking, specializing in debt and equity financing, mergers and acquisitions, financial advisory, financial analysis, treasury, and asset management. He holds a BSc in Financial Economics from Centre College, USA, and an MBA (distinction) in Banking and Finance from the University of West Indies, Jamaica. He also completed the Executive Education Program in Private Equity at Harvard Business School. He currently serves as a director for My Ocean Limited, Dolla Financial Services Limited and FirstRock Private Equity Limited.

Denroy Pusey

Group Assistant Vice President – Real Estate Business
FirstRock Capital Resource Limited

Denroy Pusey is the Assistant Vice-President – Real Estate Business of the First Rock Group. Mr. Pusey has worked for over 8 years in the Real Estate, Pension and Investment sectors and has therefore become adept in the areas of construction development and investments. Immediately prior to joining FirstRock, he held a managerial role at Sagicor Group Jamaica. He is responsible for FirstRock’s real estate portfolios within various jurisdictions from management, developing, and investing.

Mr. Pusey holds a Master of Science degree with honours in Construction from Heriot Watt University, Scotland; and a Bachelor of Science Degree with honours from The University of Technology, Jamaica. He also completed the Executive Education in Real Estate Management at Harvard University and holds several professional certifications in project management and finance.

Jordan Chin

Group Legal & Compliance Officer,
FirstRock Capital Resource Limited

Mr. Jordan Chin is the Vice President of Legal & Compliance of the First Rock Group. He is an Attorney-At-Law admitted to practice in Jamaica and a licensed Real Estate agent. He has practised extensively in Real Estate and Commercial law having worked with distinguished law firms in the country. Prior to joining FirstRock, he was an attorney at DunnCox Law firm. He is responsible for FirstRock’s Legal and Compliance framework: he applies his expertise gained to provide valuable advice and insight. 

Mr. Chin holds a Bachelor of Laws degree with honours and an Associate Degree in Computer Science. He is a member of the Realtors Association of Jamaica, the Jamaican Bar Association, a director in numerous private companies and sits on various strata committees.

Shaun Myers

VP of Finance & Planning ,
FirstRock Capital Resource Limited

Mr. Shaun Myers is the Group Vice President – Finance & Planning of the First Rock Group. In this role, he provides oversight of the group’s financial reporting, corporate finance and budgeting. Prior to this, he served as the Regional Financial Analyst at Unicomer Group, one of the largest retail firms in the Caribbean, as well as Senior Accountant at Proven Investments Limited, a leading investment company in Jamaica. 

Mr. Myers brings twelve years of experience in the financial and retail sectors. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Banking and Finance with honours from the University of the West Indies and the ACCA professional certification. He also completed a Stanford University certification in Interpersonal Dynamics for High-Performing Executives as well as Executive Education certifications with Chicago Booth in Mergers and Acquisitions and the Executive Program for Prospective CFOs. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Jamaica and is currently the Treasurer of the Liguanea Community Development Committee.

Norman Reid

Chairman,
FirstRock Real Estate Investments Limited

Mr. Norman Reid is the Chairman of First Rock Real Estate Investments. He is a career Banker and has served the Financial Services Sector for over 40 years with his most recent post being Senior Assistant General Manager for Retail Banking at NCB. His expertise includes Risk Management, Leadership, Sales Management and Governance. He serves as a Director at the EXIM Bank, Access Financial Services and Growth Tech Limited. He also chairs the Sub-Committees of these Boards.

Norman holds a BA in Banking and Finance, a Diploma in Banking (ACIB) and a Diploma in Retail Banking from the BAI (BANK Administration Institute) USA. He is also a Fellow at the Institute of Banking and Financial services in the UK. Mr. Reid was also appointed as a mentor to the Emerging Leader Initiative administered by the Bank Administration Institute.
